ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 168/7-148 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 34 mm, 17.00 g, 12 h). Head of youthful Dionysos to right, wearing tainia and wreath of ivy and fruit. Rev. HΡAKΛEOΥΣ - ΣΩTHΡOΣ / ΘAΣIΩN Herakles standing front, head to left, holding club in his right hand and with lion's skin draped over his left arm and quiver over his shoulder; in inner left field, M. HGC 6, 358. Prokopov Group V, 56 (V E3/R 50). Perfectly centered and of fine early style. Die breaks on the obverse and with very light doubling on the reverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
